Good service. Friendly atmosphere. My only issue is that I ordered the Steak and Ale Pie that was overly salty for my taste. I'd try something else next time. I did go back to BOP this time for lunch. I had the Reuben sandwich. Very good and not overly salty as was my previous experience. I would order the Reuben again.
The Wellingtons are great. Both the meatloaf and salmon. Tried the scotch eggs the other day. Reminds me of the Irish and Scottish bars we hung at in Wisconsin. Only thing they need is homemade corned beef hash!
Lunch with friends. Always good. Very good waitstaff. Had a burger this time…yum! Pot roast always good. Perfect onion rings. Prime rib is great. Steak and ale pie. Very dependable tasty food.
BOP never disappoints with overall experiences. It's been a while since my last visit and once again, service, food, etc. is 5 stars. It's around noon and the restaurant is nearly full but I was seated immediately. My server was awesome as he kept my refreshments filled. I ordered grilled fish and the seasoning is "on point" as well as coleslaw which was made just right. Peas & carrots cooked to perfection and when requesting for re-order of filets, they are quick to have it hot and delicious. This is my goto for all you can eat as the fish portions has great selection (large flakes). British Open Pub has a loyal customer that will continue to express my gratitude for their service.
Wonderful food. I had the chicken and mushroom pot pie. Really good. Everyone also loved their dinner. Apple cobbler was great. Missed the chocolate cake. Hope they have it next time.
