We enjoyed the food quite a bit! The proclaimed "World's Best Clam Chowder" held true; the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot. FYI, There is a separate host for inside seating and outside seating, so if the wait is long, I suggest double booking and then canceling the one that hits later. We were told 2 hours inside and an hour outside, but were seated within a half-hour inside. I believe most others are doing the same for the table to open that fast. It's a good stop, long-standing, and right on one of the most beautiful soft-sand beaches in Florida!
It was a very busy early-evening dinner as I expect it normally is for this popular hot spot. We were seated pretty quickly. Had we arrived a half hour later, I think the wait would have been much longer. Our order was taken right away and the food was delivered equally as fast. The fish basket was portioned just right and tasted great. The only slightly negative thing I can say is the waiter was overwhelmed with multiple tables. A drink was forgotten at the bar which came when we finally got his attention (late in the meal). The drinks was a daiquiri that could have been passed off as a virgin one because there was no taste of alcohol at all. As a good gesture, he did remove that drink from our bill without us even requesting it. He was super nice about it. None of the negative experiences would stop me from going back again and I plan to next time we're in Siesta Key.
It was an unusually chilly February day in Siesta Key, Florida so what better time to check out Captain Curt's Crab & Oyster Bar for some New England clam chowder. The place is quaint & decorated in a nautical theme. We ordered two cups of chowder and two Captain's Platters. The soup was excellent, brimming with clams (unlike other places), the Captain's Platter was equally delicious. The file fish was done perfectly as was the Sea Scallops, although the Gulf Shrimp could've been slightly less seasoned but that's just me. Overall, it was simply delicious. Our server Tasha was friendly, courteous and quick, and returned often to check on us. I appreciate good service and Tasha didn't disappoint. We'll be back on a warmer day so we can take advantage of the outdoor seating which would provide us with an excellent opportunity for people watching while we dine. Masks are required to enter but once seated may be removed.
Grouper basket was excellent. So we're the pretzels and beer cheese dip. My friends enjoyed their dinners as well. Clam chowder, mahi salad, chicken fingers. The cook had no problem preparing a dish with no butter for a friend with dietary needs. Mango Hooch awesome! Great place
Great food and drinks. We had a large group (6 adults and 7 kids), Kevin was our waiter and he did amazing. Even though we had to wait for our table, once we were inside things moved quick. Food was delicious and fast.
