Air conditioned, comfortable seating, amazing performers and a room full of neighborly, people on their stage and off. A comfortable place to hang out, unwind with a fresh cup of brewed coffee and/or snack from the kitchen. Hearing covers from the past and many originals on Wednesday night open mic. Not to mention it's a BYOB venue.

This is a gem in North Port that has yet to be discovered by most. A great place to spend an evening listening to live music in a welcoming atmosphere. Every show is broadcast live to WKDW radio station. It's BYOB and have a super time!

Common Ground presents the best in live acoustic music by local and touring artists from around the US and Ireland. Truly a performance venue without the distraction or noise of a restaurant or bar. This is an uncommon experience for music lovers. The concerts are also presented on the air and online on WKDW Community Radio 97.5 FM.

Although I am a volunteer at both Common Grounds and WKDW radio who runs it, I would like to reflect what our regular attendees tell me. They express constant appreciation for its very existence as it may be the only true listening room in the area. They come and sit on comfortable chairs, face the stage and listen while they sip their BYO beverage. Entertainers are extremely impressed with this and love it there as they do not have to compete with the distractions of wait staff and bar noise. Wednesday night Open Mic Live has become an SRO event for excellent musicians to try out their material or prep for upcoming paid events which happen Thursday through Saturday nights. Musicians come from across the sea and the nation and state to play in this unique venue. None of us volunteers are paid and we love working there.
