Classic bistro ambiance, busy vibe inside makes you feel like you're in Paris, beautiful patio outside makes you feel in the Riviera. The menu had great choices from classics to fusions with other European cuisines, such as Italian and German. The beef tartare as a base was outstanding, the large chicken egg on top instead of quail gave an overwhelming richness which could have used more toast. The food was overall prepared with high quality and presentation but the amount of salt that night took away from its potential. I would go back to see if that was one salty occasion, and to try more from their menu.
We ate here last night as guests of our hosts. They eat here often and couldn’t wait to take us to the French Brassiere. Everyone had a wonderful meal here and we thought our waiter, Billy was very good. Excellent service. My risotto with smoked salmon, I had to try. I thought it an odd pairing. I must say it was the best risotto I have eaten. I highly recommend the French Brasserie
While the level of service is relaxed compared to some restaurants, the food is consistently well prepared. The wine list is surprisingly expansive (and well curated) for a brasserie. The brunch and lunch menus are equally well executed and diverse. The French Brasserie Rustique occupies one of the best outdoor dining venues in Naples with an inviting bar that starts in the outdoor space and continues in to the bistro like interior.
Had a great meal here. William was our server and he was on point. Made the whole meal comfortable for us. Oysters are clean and fresh, and old fashioned is very well balanced- definitely stop by during happy hour if possible. The escargot was good but I think the bread cap they put on top is too much. In my opinion the cap is too buttery and soft in the sense that the escargot ends up being a bit too oily instead of buttery. Next time I would toss the bread cap aside and eat it with the bread they give you when you first sit down. I had the porkchop and it was alright. Seasoned well but overcooked from medium. I would probably skip it next time. However, the steak my wife ordered came out perfect. It was seasoned well and the fries were nice and crisp. I would 100% order that for myself next time. Overall the food was good but, the service is what will make me come back. William showed us a great time throughout the meal and one of the main reasons my wife and I will be going back.
We had a special event dinner at the French last night. It was one of the most incredible dining experiences any of our group has ever had. From the fabulous menu curated by Vincenzo, the amazing wines selected by the wine manager Marcello to the service by the whole team, it was a one of a kind, memorable experience. Whether for a special occasion or a casual dinner or lunch the French can't be topped. Oh, by the way, they make the best French 75 I have ever had anywhere.
