We celebrated my husband's birthday quietly yesterday evening at The Grill at 1951. We totally loved it. The atmosphere was dim and soft creating great ambiance.. They have limited tables that makes for a even better atmosphere..A stage is in front wherein we listened to a man sing while playing his guitar. There are many screens that randomly change with famous artwork. The service was impeccable. No one rushes you. I had Peppered Ahi Tuna on risotto. My husband had fresh fish. The food was superb. The prices were fair. I highly recommend The Grill at 1951 to anyone that wants a nice, relaxing dinner.
Very impressed by this hidden gem. The service, food, and music was perfect for the occasion. Our server Joey G. took it an extra mile to make our dinner entertaining. Thank you for making the evening a delight. Highly recommend. I had the wild Berry salad add salmon and it was amazing.
I’m a truck driver and was in town for one day staying at the hotel next door and decided to go because the menu looked so good. The bartender Kevin is awesome!!! So personable and friendly. The music was great the oysters were amazing. I will definitely put this on my maps to visit when I’m in the area again
The atmosphere is nice. Live music is nice. The prices are high for the portion sizes. The seafood dishes contain more pasta and risotto than actual seafood. Server was not very attentive and never did refill our water glasses. Ordered coffee with dessert and the coffee came out long before the dessert did. Was never offered a refill so that I could actually enjoy the coffee with dessert. Not sure I’ll visit again.
We had a 6:30 reservation, which we were on time for. Not a very warm welcome by Dawn the manager at the podium. We were seated and she gave us the menus and wine list. We sat there and sat there and sat there. No one came over to acknowledge our presence. A party of eight came in sometime after we did and we noticed they were promptly greeted by their server. We still had no one come over. The server at the table of eight came over and stated she would send someone over after she finished pouring water and taking drink orders. We sat there and sat quite patiently waiting for someone to at least acknowledge us by coming over and pouring even water. After exactly 15 minutes we got up and left. Upon leaving the manager, Dawn did not inquire why the hasty retreat, no apology, nothing!! We drove to another restaurant in the area and while having our cocktails, I decided to call and speak with the manager. Lo and behold i was told by the person who answered the phone that she was the manager. I asked her name and told her how we were treated. Her excuse was there was a couple waiting to be seated which she attended to first. She said we left without her getting a chance to speak with us. I said to her the right thing she should have done is inquired why we were leaving but she became mute on the subject. As a foot note we have lived here since 1988 and was never treated so rudely by a restaurant. I think she ought to take a course in hospitality before rising to the position of a manager!!
